上大學(xué)的時(shí)候，校園里有好多柿子樹(shù)。到了秋季，火紅的柿子掛滿樹(shù)枝，甚是惹眼。不過(guò)，一般都是在一兩天之內(nèi)，挨近地面的樹(shù)枝上的柿子就會(huì)不見(jiàn)了蹤影，只剩下高處的一些還像燈籠一樣掛在那里。那些挨近地面的樹(shù)枝上的柿子在英語(yǔ)里叫做low-hanging fruit，它們會(huì)成為大家最早下手的目的，所以在日常也喻指容易達(dá)成的目的。

We have Mother Nature to thank for the expression low-hanging fruit. A fruit-bearing tree often contains some branches low enough for animals and humans to reach without much effort. The fruit contained on these lower branches may not be as ripe or attractive as the fruit on higher limbs1, but it is usually more abundant2 and easier to harvest. From this we get the popular expression low-hanging fruit, which generally means selecting the easiest targets with the least amount of effort.
