在廚房做飯時老感覺客廳的手機在響，跑過去一看，發(fā)現(xiàn)手機根本沒響動。這樣的情況你歷程過嗎？在英語里，這樣的情況叫phantom1 ringing，如果走路時老感覺手機在震動，那就是phantom vibration2 syndrome3。

Phantom vibration syndrome or phantom ringing is the sensation and false belief that ones mobile phone is vibrating or ringing, when in fact the telephone is not doing so.

Phantom vibration syndrome（或者phantom ringing）指手機明明沒響動，卻總感覺手機在震動或者在響的幻覺或錯覺，大家稱之為震動幻覺綜合征或者手機響動幻覺。

Phantom ringing may be experienced while taking a shower, watching television, or using a noisy device. Humans are particularly sensitive to auditory tones between 1,000 and 6,000 hertz, and basic mobile phone ringers often fall within this range. This frequency range can generally be more difficult to locate spatially4, thus allowing for potential confusion when heard from a distance.

大家在洗澡、看電視或者用有噪音的設(shè)施時常常會產(chǎn)生手機響動幻覺。人類對1000到6000赫茲之間的聲音格外敏銳，而常見的手機鈴聲基本都在這個范圍內(nèi)。因為這個頻段的聲音非常難從空間上定位，所以在遠處聽到時，比較容易導(dǎo)致錯覺。

False vibrations5 are less well understood however, and could have psychological or neurological sources. Some liken this effect to be similar to conditioning, like Pavlovs experiment on dogs. Researcher Michelle Drouin found that almost 9 of 10 undergraduates at her college experienced phantom vibrations.
