其實這個俚語起來自于一個典故，January和May是該故事中的兩個人的名字。前者是一位男爵，他在60歲時娶了一個花容月貌的名叫May的年輕女孩。
他們相愛了，所以，January and May也就變成大家調(diào)侃的老夫少妻了。
更接地氣一點說，就是老牛吃嫩草~
He is 19 years older than Mary. Its a January and May marriage.
他比Mary大19歲，因此可以說他們是老夫少妻了。
大家也可以用December and May來表示，由于December是一年中的最后一個月，所以用來類比老年、晚年也會更形象，而May-December romance就是忘年戀啦。
